The Ho NODE Hub, in
partnership with Ministry of Business Development has held a stakeholder
engagement to map out key strategies to give the youth digital skills training
and entrepreneurial support in the Volta Region.
This formed part of its
nationwide Business Support program to chart measures for digital
transformation of the local economy for job production and development.
Speaking at the
engagement, the Programs and Operations Manager for the Hub, Courage Asase,
stressed the need to involve the youth in digital skills training and
entrepreneurial support.
He said the youth are
key players in the development of the region hence should be offered much
attention and support in terms of entrepreneurship for the transformation of
the local economy.
He stated that most
young people in the region have great capabilities but lack mentorship and
training to develop and due to that, some youths engage themselves in
activities which do not offer them any positive opportunity to groom their
lives for the development of the region.
He further called on
policy makers in Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to invest in
the youths by creating and providing them with requisite business training on
Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, digital and other productive skills.
He also advocated that
stakeholders should increase financial education for the youths so as to avoid
poor managerial skills by young entrepreneurs which may constitute to loss to
businesses in the region.
According to him,
investing funds and resources in the youths will help equip them and also aid
boost in the local economy.
The Ho Node Hub is an
organization geared towards empowering the youth in the region and the country
at large with digital skills, entrepreneurship toolkit and an inclusive
prospect needed to build successful ventures to boost the economy.
