Residents of Wudoaba in
the Ketu South Municipality have benefited from a free health screening
exercise organized by Babanawo Courage, a health practitioner, as part of his
corporate social responsibilities.
About two hundred
beneficiaries have their blood sugar levels, blood pressure and HIV status
checked and persons who have been diagnosed with conditions needing medical
attention were referred to health facilities for treatment.

He said many people in
the Wudoaba are suffering from different health problems which need medical
attention but due to financial hitches, they find it difficult to get medical
care.
Mr. Babanawo also
highlighted on the unavailability of a health centre in the community as a
contributing factor for this problem of apathy among the citizens, adding that
the CHPS compound in the area has not been completed.
He said this situation
is a challenge to the people of Wudoaba since they lack the requite health care
which should assist them in times of such needs.
He therefore called on
government to provide a well resourced health facility for the people of
Wudoaba.
Mr. Babanawo however
lauded the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie for her
support towards the success of the health screening exercise.
Some beneficiaries
extolled the free health screening initiative and urged the organizers to sustain
the exercise yearly in the Wudoaba community till they are furnished with a
health facility.
